To them, the “modernization” process, requiring a powerful central government, led Ataturk and Reza Shah towards centrality and authoritarian leadership. Therefore, “Reforms” in both countries were led by central command from top to bottom. Cultural reform, hugely imbued with western values, encouraged strongly in language, dress code, art and literature, schools and higher education institutes; a process enormously inspired and informed by the thinkers and intellectuals of the two countries. As political ties between the two countries grew stronger, so did Reza Shah’s infatuation with Ataturk’s modernist measures. The question is on what grounds did the relations between Iran and Turkey grow during the First Pahlavi, and how did Ataturk’s cultural programs affect the situation in Reza Shah Iran? The current research draws upon the cultural framework of ‘Authoritarian Modernization’ which was followed by the leaders of Iran and Turkey on their path to modernity. The article studies and cultural reforms in Iran and Turkey and, furthermore, assess the role of political leaders and intellectuals in promoting modern thought and the ensuing developments.  <br />  احساسِ نیاز زمامداران ایران و ترکیه برای"مدرن‌سازی" کشورهای خود طبق الگوی اروپایی تقریباً هم زمان بود. این فرآیند از نظر آنانبه دولتِ مقتدرِ متمرکز نیاز داشت و آتاتورک و رضاشاه نیز به سوی اقتدار و تمرکز پیش رفتند. تغییرات در هر دو کشور،آمرانه و از بالا به پایین بود. نوسازی فرهنگی با صبغۀ غربی در زبان، لباس، هنر و ادبیات، آموزش و پرورش و دانشگاه نمود یافت و در راه این تغییرات،روشنفکران هر دو ملت نقشِ اساسی داشتند. گسترش روابط سیاسی دوکشور، به تأثیرپذیری رضاشاه از اقدامات تجددگرایانۀ آتاتورک منجر شد. پرسش این است که عوامل و زمینه‌های مناسبات ایران و ترکیه در عصر پهلوی اول چه بود و برنامه‌های فرهنگی آتاتورک چه آثاری بر وضعیت ایران در عصر رضاشاه داشت؟ پژوهش حاضر بر اساس چارچوب مفهومی الگوی "تجدد آمرانه" تدوین شده است که رهبران ترکیه و ایران برای "مدرن‌سازی" از آن پیروی می‌کردند. در این مقاله، ضمن اشاره بهتغییرات فرهنگی در ایران و ترکیه، نقش رهبران سیاسی و روشن‌اندیشان دو ملت در ترویج افکار نوین و تغییرات حاصل از تحولات بررسی خواهد شد.<br />   https://www.hfrjournal.ir/article_67351_deab90ce6cf03681fdedeb1f2cced7fa.pdf
