Travelogues pertaining to this era herald the emergence of modern Iranian reason, i.e. raw and descriptive perception and observations of the modern societies of that era and created a modern narrative for Qajar kings. To the authors of this article the study of these travelogues and implementation of their recommendations could have contributed to the modernization and prosperity of Iran. In the current article descriptive-analytical method and library resources have been employed to render analyses of early Qajar travelogues (from the establishment of the Qajar rule to early Nasir era) in order to better understand Iranians’ mindset of the new civilizations and Western prosperity, and also to assess the level of influence these writing wielded upon Nasir Al-Din Shah Qajar. همزمان با فرمانروایی قاجارها بر ایران و گسترش ارتباط میان ایرانیان و سایر نقاط دنیا و نیز آشنایی آنان با اصول جدید تمدنی و رویارویی نخبگان و جهانگردان ایرانی با مدرنیته و پدید آمدن گفتمان جدید فکری و سیاسی و همچنین امکان مشاهدة مستقیم ایرانیان از جوامع اروپایی، انتقال اطلاعات کسب شده به صورت شفاهی و کتبی فراهم آمد که حاصل این مشاهدات، نخستین تصاویر و صورت‌های ذهنی ایرانیان از تمدن جدید را در میان آنها ایجاد کرد. سفرنامه‌های مربوط به آغاز این دوره به عنوان پیشگامان عقل مدرن ایرانی، شامل برداشت­ها و مشاهدات از جوامع پیشرفتة آن روزگار را به صورت خام و با بیان روایتی و توصیفی، به دولتمردان و به‌ویژه پادشاهان قاجار منعکس کرد. نویسندگان، غالباً مطالعه و توجه به این متون و توصیه‌های آنها را در نوسازی و پیشرفت بهتر ایران انتظار داشتند. در این مقاله با استفاده از روش توصیفی و تحلیلی و نیز بهره‌وری از منابع کتابخانه‌ای کوشش شده است که با تحلیل سفرنامه­های ایرانیان ابتدای دوره قاجار (از تشکیل این سلسله تا اوایل عصر ناصری) صورت‌های ذهنی ایرانیان از تمدن جدید و پیشرفت­های دول اروپایی، واکاوی و میزان تأثیر این نوشته‌ها بر ناصرالدین شاه قاجار بررسی شود. https://www.hfrjournal.ir/article_82162_9b64b3e5c039af1a762566cff8c1edc5.pdf
