Abstract
After the end of World War II, with the granting of independence to India by the British, India was divided into two independent countries, India and Pakistan. Religious differences between Hindus and Muslims of the subcontinent basically caused this division. Religious differences in the form of nationalist sentiments did not fade after the separation and formation of the two countries and provided the basis for subsequent conflicts. The border disputes have so far led to three major wars and several small border conflicts between the two countries, and these conflicts eventually divided Pakistan. Iran, both as a neighbor and as one of Pakistan's great allies, took a position in favor of Pakistan, especially in the last two major wars. The security nightmare that Iran had in the area of the Soviet Union, together with some security considerations that could prevent the emergence of similar crises in the border areas of the two countries of Iran and Pakistan, were among the reasons for Iran's support to Pakistan. In addition to the danger that Iran felt from the Soviet Union and the radical Arab governments, the peace diplomacy pursued by the two countries, especially Iran, led to a common understanding between the two countries regarding regional threats. This study tries to examine the influence of the Indo-Pakistan wars as an independent historical variable on the foreign relations of Iran and Pakistan during the Pahlavi II as a subordinate historical variable with the approach of historical analysis.
