Abstract
Contemplating the circumstances under which the Greeks forged ties with India and the legacy of Alexander the Great, expanded the scope of research from the 4th century B.C to millennia before. As an archeologist I have developed a tendency to seek the root cause of every phenomenon. In this regard, I broke free of the narrow confines of the research and assessed the relations between India and the West far beyond the conventional time frame mentioned in this paper. A history of cultural ties could set the stage for a better transference of thoughts, technology and the produced goods of other nations. Therefore, it could be deduced that the relations of Ekdis and the third Our Dynasty in the south of Mesopotamia with the cities from the Harapan civilization during the two to three century of the last three millennia B.C set the stage for relations between India and western cultures in later periods and after the victories earned by Alexander the Great. On the other hand, due to a 2000 –year gap between the civilizations of Harapan and Late India and their relations with the West, a logical relations between them seems rather unlikely.
