Abstract
In addition to some artistic and ancient objects and artifacts belonging to Iran which exist in various regions of Japan and indicate the old cultural relations between Iran and Japan, the similarities between legends, myths and folklores of the countries also show the old-age relations between these two countries. Some of these similarities can be observed in the common old stories of Avestā, The Shānāmeh by Ferdusi, The history of Bal’ami, and Fārsnāmeh which also exist one way or other in the ancient history book of Japan called Nihon Shoogi. Some similarities also exist in a few of the common cultural rituals of the two countries such as New Year festival of Iran called Nawruz and the New year Eve of the Japanese. The present article attempts to mention some of the common cultural elements which exist in both countries.
