Abstract
A country's foreign relations with other nations are influenced by various political, economic, and cultural factors, and a multitude of elements can intervene in these relationships. Foreign policy actors, based on various considerations, prioritize certain factors over others; Burma's relations with the Persian Gulf states are no exception to this rule. Throughout history, the territory of Burma has maintained extensive relations with the Persian Gulf. In recent years, these connections with various countries in the region have been influenced by religious, political, and economic considerations. The present article aims to examine these relations and analyze the role of different factors in the engagement with Burma. It appears that Burma's proximity to two populous and significant countries like China and India, its lack of economic development, its historical precedent of relations with the Persian Gulf, the presence of Muslim groups in its territory, and the utilization of Burma's market and labor force by the economies of some Persian Gulf states, are among the important factors and contexts in Burma's relationship with the Persian Gulf. This research examines this relationship using a descriptive-analytical method and drawing upon various sources.
