Iran-China Cultural Relations during the Ilkhanate Era

Abstract
Mongol invasion of China transformed the relations of these country with other nations on many levels and in various aspects. Close amical ties between the Ilkhanate in Iran and the Mongolian Yuan rulers in China promoted the relations between the two countries and propoelled it to its climax. Muslim Iranians served in a myriad of official position, e.g, ministers, governors, sevretaries and army commanders, under Ogedi Khan. The research method is descriptive-analytical and its main focus is on the exchange of science and arts, such as medicine, astrology, painting and printing between Iran and China and the promotion of Farsi language in China. Farsi grew to be so influential in Yuan bureaucracy and military that assumed the thrid position after Turkish-Mongolian and Chinese languages.
