Following Iran's defeat in the wars with Russia, the acceptance of imposed treaties, and the loss of significant portions of our country's territory, Russia proceeded to expand its influence in Iran. Subsequently, two major historical events—the Tobacco Movement and the Jungle Movement—provided an opportunity for Russia to utilize the popular resistance and collective action of the people to advance its own expansion and influence. The fundamental research question of this study is: By what measures did Russia exploit the collective action of the Iranian people during the Tobacco Movement and the Jungle Movement for its own benefit? Based on the research hypothesis, it is posited that Russia, by capitalizing on the collective action and resistance of Iranian society during critical historical junctures such as these movements, sought to reduce British influence and expand its own zones of influence. The research findings indicate that during these two historical periods, Russia succeeded in increasing its political, economic, and even cultural influence in Iran. This study employs a historical-analytical methodology based on documentary analysis.
