Abstract
Bandar Bushehr is one of the oldest ports of the Persian Gulf, always impacting the Iranian political and economic developments. This port , in contemporary history , has been invaded four times by the British forces, the last one during the 1st world war. In addition, the 2nd world war which led to the ouster of Reza Shah, though not directly, had its indirect impact on the port. The present paper tries to use a descriptive – analytical method as well as archival documents in Bushehr Iranology Foundation, and the National Library and Archives of Iran , to answer the question how did Bushehr fare during the time of the Allies’ presence, and what consequences did the presence of foreign forces have ? The findings of the research show that the crisis of bread, along with economic-political instability, grains hoarding, famine, ubiquitousness of death, coupled with the economic recession of the customs were the consequences of the world war two as well as the fall of Reza Shah, conditions exacerbated by the presence of the allies.
