Sir Reader Bullard was a highly influential British Diplomat who during his career as a diplomat had postings in various parts of the world, specifically in the Middle East, among which, he served as Britain’s Minister plenipotentiary and later was appointed as Britain’s Embassador to Iran during World War II. The current analysis aims at giving an overview of the history of Anglo-Iranian relations in the first half of the twentieth century, as elaborated by Bullard in his memoir, and also seeks to analyze the confidential reports compiled by him during his posting in Iran. His memoir in Iran, and more importantly his classified reports to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office depicts a more transparent image of British policies in Iran in the course of the Second World War
